Vtg Japanese Haori Himo Kimono Accessory
This is a Japanese vintage braided silk haori himo. One of many different styles of kumihimo cords, this pair of cords are mostly a soft tan/beige color with hot pink feathery designs mimicking fletching on arrows. These two pieces would be tied in a traditional-style knot for decorative appeal.
A haori himo is a decorative cord, chain, or string that holds the kimono's haori (jacket) closed and in position. There is a string cord tie type, a type of glass ball passed through a braided cord, and recently a magnetic type. They attach to the haori via loops at on the jacket's collar using small clasps or hooks.
